I was proud to spend some time with the yanks in kandahar. I got sent to patrol with them. They couldn't give you enough of anything you needed, ammo, food equipment. Good lads. My one memory is this they was shocked how heavy they thought the SA80 A2 was 😂 and kept call the susat a scope. Honestly great boys.

I worked with the sas in Afghanistan, let me giving context. We was Infantry, our roll was keep the bad guys off the sas backs, while they hit their targets on a few compounds raids on high targets of interest. We go there was only 10 of us selected for it out of our platoon. Just remember 2 men in tbe briefing room no badges non British issued firearms. Mix combat kit. His final words was keep the bad guys off our ass. We will do the rest. 1 hour before we set to assembly, they said change of plans, you boys are going to hit a secondary target down the block. We got photos of who we were going in for, H hour came and it all kicket off that night. Looking back now we was probably the noisy distraction they needed to complete there objective. From what iv seen in the field they are very professional operators. My second experience was playing enemy for them in Hereford. I was in recce platoon. They used live rounds and explosives. Unreal soldiers. They get my respect.

I worked with the SAS once in my lifetime during a flight to Denmark and I have to say that at the most difficult turbulent times, The Scandinavian Airline Service known as the SAS, were brilliant 😅

The point is there is no way of telling who is SAS/SBS, so unassuming and undemomstrative are these people. Initial selection doesn't discriminate but it finds you out. If you make it you are merely at the start of the journey. If you don't make selection you either go back to doing what you do with no shame or ridicule; you either continue or you look into yourself, address your shortcomings and come back better. These are the people who wrote the book and continue to update it. All countries special forces are outstanding. British Special forces are too but they are and continue to be the Benchmark, thats all there is to it. We in the UK are proud and thankful for thier quiet unseen skills and dedication.

Yeah i was Lucky enough to grow up with my dad having one friend who was ex SAS and another who was ex SBS great guys they were awesome the SAS guy taught me computer programming in DOS way back in time and stayed with his friend who was in SBS for about a month and a half as my dad worked off shore but we use to play Lan game's of Doom and lucky enough to be taught stuff most kids would not be so yeah got the highest respect for SF's guys

He was out of the army at this point , he is lefit i served with him as a Royal Hampshire, he definitely was badged SAS

The thing with the Gurkhas is there only way to a better life is been in the brittish army..have you ever seen a documentary when one off them don't make the grade it's hard to watch 😢..any veteran Gurkha should be given full citizenship ,pension to the UK 💙 I have met a few vets driving me home on a night out I thank them for there service and tip them heavily
